| The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Northwestern University and the High Energy Physics Division at Argonne National Laboratory invite applications for a joint position in theoretical particle physics, to begin in the Fall of 2010 or later. The appointment is at the rank of assistant, associate or full professor. This position will be shared equally between the two institutions and is equivalent to a tenure-track or tenure university appointment. We are looking for candidates with a strong theoretical background in high-energy physics, and a high level of achievement in particle physics phenomenology, who will play a leadership role in the LHC era and beyond. Candidates are expected to hold a PhD or equivalent degree in physics or a related area. A successful candidate is expected to be strongly committed to research and teaching, and to strive for a vibrant, exciting research program at both institutions. Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, and a brief description of their research and teaching interests and goals, and they should arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent to the addresses below. Completed applications should be received by December 15, 2009.
