Assistant Professor in Experimental Particle Physics

The Physics Department in the School of Arts and Sciences at Brandeis University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor beginning in academic year 2021-2022. This position is subject to budget approval.

We seek candidates with demonstrated expertise in experimental particle physics, including collider, neutrino, and astroparticle physics. The ideal candidate has a strong record of contributing to both physics analysis and detector support. Detector contributions include hardware production and operation, detector R&D, simulation, reconstruction, and calibration. The Brandeis Physics Department has a long tradition in collider physics, with a strong current commitment to the ATLAS Experiment at CERN.

The person filling this position is expected to: develop a vigorous, externally well-funded, and internationally recognized research program, including supervision of graduate students and postdocs; engage in effective and enthusiastic instruction in physics at undergraduate and graduate levels; and participate in department and university governance.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent in physics, and have postdoctoral experience at the time of appointment. They should demonstrate a strong record of accomplishments in physics research; vision, creativity, and leadership skills; a desire to advise and teach a diverse and dynamic student body; and a commitment to addressing issues of diversity and inclusion in the university community.
