A monthly associate in research position is open in a Duke biology lab. Requirements include at least a BS/BA in biology, systems biology, statistics, computer science, or related field. The position requires exceptional organizational and communication skills, fluency in R and/or python and familiarity with other coding languages. Previous experience with large biological datasets such as genomics is preferred. Candidates familiar with microbiology and related fields are strongly encouraged to apply. Duties include support of ongoing projects in the research group (metadata organization and archiving, biological data analysis, production of publication-quality figures), managerial functions such as maintaining the lab website, data standards compliance, development of computational SOP’s, etc. Position is 30 hours per week to start, with the possibility for advancement to full time pending satisfactory performance.
