Job Description:    

The University of Washington Tacoma invites applications for a full time tenure-track Assistant Professor in Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences (IAS) with teaching and research interests in applied mathematics. The position will contribute to an expanding undergraduate curriculum within an interdisciplinary framework—developing and teaching math courses serving engineering, environmental science, business, social science, technology, and education programs. The ideal candidate will be engaged in innovative teaching and interdisciplinary research with proven strength in at least one of the following areas: numerical analysis, operations research, statistics, or modeling and simulation. The position begins September 16, 2011, and requires a Ph.D. in mathematics or related field. Establishment of an effective and sustainable program of scholarship is required for tenure and promotion.
