| A post doctoral position is immediately available in the computational group of Professor Murat Durandurdu in the Department of Physics at the University of Texas at El Paso. The individual working in this position will be involved in modeling metallic glasses and studying their behavior under extreme high-temperature and pressure conditions using ab initio simulations.
Knowledge and experience with ab initio molecular simulations, in particular SIESTA ab initio code, a strong background in modeling amorphous materials and computational skills (Unix/Linux, C, C++, Fortran, parallel computations) are highly desirable. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Physics or closely related fields. The position is initially for one year and is renewable for a second year based upon mutual agreement and continued funding.
