Position Description:    

The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy invites applications for two positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor - Practice responsible for instruction in the Integrated Patient Care Laboratory. The candidates will be members of the Pharmacy Practice and Science Division and will be part of a highly collaborative team of faculty teaching in the Integrated Patient Care Laboratory series. The positions will report to the Director of the Professional Practice Laboratory. The primary responsibilities of these positions are to participate in the development, implementation, and teaching of instructional exercises in the Integrated Patient Care Laboratory series. Course content includes aspects from various pharmacy settings including community, ambulatory care and hospital pharmacy practice. Candidates must demonstrate exceptional communication skills and a strong desire to be engaged in the clinical skills education of pharmacy students.

75% of position – Contribute to the development, implementation, and teaching of instructional exercises in the Integrated Patient Care Laboratory series. This includes delivery of didactic lectures, development of lab activities and assessments, evaluation of student work, course administration duties and curricular revision. Successful candidates will also precept fourth year pharmacy students, pharmacy practice residents and graduate teaching assistants who also participate in these courses.

25% of position - Contributions to clinical practice, service and scholarship are negotiable based on the candidates’ experience. Participation in scholarly work that supports the advancement of the Integrated Patient Care Laboratory series and clinical skills education is strongly encouraged.

Salary range for this position is $93,000 - $105,000.

Required Experience: Applicants must hold a Doctor of Pharmacy degree or equivalent, PGY-1 residency training or equivalent practice experience and pharmacist licensure or eligibility for licensure in Ohio. Classroom and/or experiential teaching experience are also required.

Desired Experience: Ideal candidates will have two or more years of recent pharmacy practice experience. For one of the two positions hospital experience is preferred.
