The SIBLEY SCHOOL OF MECHANICAL AND AEROSPACE ENGINEERING AT CORNELL UNIVERSITY, Ithaca, New York invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Biosystems, as related strongly to the disciplines within Mechanical Engineering. Candidates must hold a doctorate in an appropriate field and are expected to establish an outstanding, funded research program as well as contribute fully to both undergraduate and graduate instruction. Applicants at the level of Assistant Professor are preferred but appointments at the Associate Professor level will be considered. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. We seek outstanding individuals engaged in computational, theoretical and/or experimental research in Biosystems. Areas of particular interest include: biofluid mechanics and transport, nanobioengineering, cellular biomechanics, systems biology, synthetic biology, and cardiovascular and musculoskeletal systems. Applicants should have strong depth and ties to one or more of the Sibley School�s disciplines, e.g., fluid dynamics, applied mathematics, solid and bio-mechanics, and dynamics and control; applicant research should build on or complement strengths in the Sibley School, which include but are not limited to complex fluids, bioenergy systems, bioanalytical microdevices, and orthopaedic biomechanics.
