The Department of Biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Cambridge, Massachusetts) (https://biology.mit.edu/) is conducting a search for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level, effective July 1, 2019, or as soon thereafter as possible.  

The applicant's research program should involve, but is not limited to, the study of molecules, cells, organisms, and/or the interactions among them, using the tools of genetics, biochemistry, biophysics, cell and molecular biology, and/or computational biology. The successful candidate will have laboratory space in the Main Building of the Department of Biology.

Applicants are expected to share our commitment to undergraduate and graduate education by teaching courses and supervising graduate and undergraduate research, as well as develop and lead a vibrant, independent research program.  We are also particularly interested in candidates who will help promote and provide diversity. 

Candidates must hold a PhD in the biological, chemical, physical, mathematical, or computational sciences, or in an engineering field; or an MD, or equivalent terminal degree.

Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, a 3-5 page summary of current and proposed research, a statement of teaching interests, and arrange to have three letters of recommendation submitted on their behalf. Completed applications will be reviewed starting October 15, 2018.
