The Astrophysics and Cosmology Group ( at the International School for Advanced Studies in Trieste (SISSA, Italy) will have openings for postdoctoral positions to start in October 2019. The positions are for 2 years, with the possibility of extension for 1 more year depending on availability of funds and performance. SISSA is a multidisciplinary Ph.D. school pursuing research in the areas of physics, mathematics and neuroscience, and located close to the main scientific institutions of the region (ICTP, Trieste University and the Trieste Observatory). The Astrophysics and Cosmology Group currently consists of 10 staff members, 3 postdocs and 20 Ph.D. students (

Our research interests include: high-energy astrophysics, physics of galaxy groups and clusters, dark matter, Galactic and extra-Galactic black holes, stellar structure and evolution, relativistic astrophysics, analysis and interpretation of cosmic microwave background data, galaxy formation and evolution, early universe physics and gravitation theory.
