Experimental High Energy Physics
Tenure Track Assistant Professor Position
The Department of Physics at the University of Cincinnati invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level with a start date of August, 2012. We are searching for an outstanding researcher in high energy physics who can play a leadership role in present and/or future experiments. We especially encourage individuals with interests in neutrino physics to apply. The successful candidate is expected to establish an excellent research program, to acquire external funding to support it, to develop into a high quality teacher at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, and to establish and maintain successful and effective relationships with a diverse student and staff population. The high energy physics group consists of five faculty collaborating on six experiments: BaBar, Belle, Belle II, MiniBoone, MicroBooNE, and Daya Bay. We also expect to join other future "flavor factory" experiments. We are involved in both data analysis and detector development, and we benefit from strong computing resources and excellent machine shop facilities.
Applicants must have a PhD and should have post-doctoral research experience and a record of substantial research accomplishments. We will begin reviewing applications immediately and continue until the position is filled. Applications received by January 13, 2012 are guaranteed full consideration.
Information about our department can be found on our website at www.physics.uc.edu. Interested candidates should contact the search committee at email@example.com for more information about the position. A cover letter, Curriculum Vitae, research plan, and statement of teaching experience and interests will be requested in PDF format in the application procedure. Applications should be submitted at www.jobsatuc.com – search for reference #211UC1009. Applicants should arrange to have three letters of reference sent separately but still electronically, preferably in PDF format, to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The University of Cincinnati is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer. Women, people of color, people with disabilities and veterans are encouraged to apply.
