|The School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Cornell University seeks applications for the position of Lecturer in Energy Engineering. Requirements for the position include a B.S. in chemical engineering or the equivalent and a minimum of 5 years of experience in industry or government agencies associated with energy recovery, use, and policy. Appointment at the level of Senior Lecturer will be considered for candidates with exceptional credentials.
A successful applicant will be expected to develop advanced undergraduate- and Masters-level courses in topics related to energy recovery, conversion, economics, and policy while working with student teams, graduate teaching assistants, and other members of the faculty. The applicant should be skilled in leadership, management, and written and oral communication and should strive to have a lasting pedagogical impact on our students.
Lecturers and Senior Lecturers in the College of Engineering at Cornell University are expected to (i) excel in classroom teaching; (ii) contribute to the development of courses, including syllabuses and teaching materials; and (iii) participate in advising of students and their academic and honorary societies. Additionally, Senior Lecturers are expected to (iv) make substantial contributions to course design, syllabuses, organization, methodologies, and lasting teaching materials; (v) supervise and train teaching assistants and new Lecturers; and (vi) provide educational contributions and leadership in areas of importance to the department, college and, where appropriate, to the university and nation.
