Duke University, Departments of Biomedical Engineering seeks to hire a Postdoctoral Associate in the field of stem cell biology and regenerative engineering. The successful candidate will work jointly in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Department of Medicine with the PI Prof. Samira Musah.

An ideal candidate for this position will be an individual with a Ph.D. degree in cell biology, stem cell and developmental biology, bioengineering, pathology, genetics, chemical-biology or a related field; or an individual with an M.D.-Ph.D. degree with strong research experiences in these areas. Candidates proficient in cellular and molecular biology, and basic concepts of tissue engineering, immunology, and CRISPR/Cas9 genome engineering are particularly encouraged to apply. There will be significant opportunities for professional growth, including co-authorship on scientific output, patent applications, and professional grant applications and career development activities.

A successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on projects within the scope of: (1) Stem cell biology and regenerative medicine; (2) Reprogramming and differentiation of patient-derived stem cells; (3) bioengineering approaches for disease modeling; (4) Discovery of novel disease-biomarkers and therapeutics.
