The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Washington State University, Pullman, WA invites applications for a permanent, full-time, tenure-track faculty position in theoretical physics at the assistant or associate professor level beginning August 16, 2020, with some preference for fields intersecting with quantum science and technologies, broadly defined. Exceptional candidates will be considered in all areas of theoretical physics, but the candidate is expected to fit into and complement existing departmental strengths, possibly contributing to the university's vision of developing a world class institute for quantum technologies. The successful applicant will be expected to establish a vigorous externally funded research program, interact with other departmental faculty, and to teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
