| Position Description: |
| A postdoctoral position of theoretical condensed matter and materials physics is available in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Wayne State University. The research will be focused on the phase-field-crystal (PFC) modeling of defect dynamics in non-equilibrium solid material systems. Candidates must have a PhD degree in Physics, Materials Science, or related disciplines, and have strong theoretical and/or computational background in research. Research experience in the area of phase-field-crystal, phase-field, or coarse-grained-type dynamic modeling and simulation of materials is preferred. The initial appointment will be for one year, with the possibility of renewal for another year based on funding availability and mutual agreement. Applicants should submit a CV with a list of publications, contact information of at least 3 references, and a statement of research interests before May 20, 2012.
