Duke’s Masters in Interdisciplinary Data Science and Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering seek an adjunct professor to teach “Data Analysis At Scale In The Cloud.” 

This course, which is aimed at students who already have strong foundations in machine learning, will teach students to apply the ideas and analyses of machine learning at scale in the cloud. 

A successful candidate will have deep experience in the relevant topics for this course, such as distributed computing frameworks (Hadoop/Spark) and containerization and cloud deployment (e.g., Docker/Kubernettes). 

Ideal candidate will have successful teaching experience at the graduate level, and be excited about integrating robust practical projects into the coursework that allow students to integrate their established machine learning knowledge with the techniques learned in this class to scale machine learning models in the cloud. 

The course should be rigorous and reference relevant theory, but should also engage active learning techniques and have a heavy emphasis on real-world applications. The course syllabus will be developed in close collaboration with the Master in Data Science and Electrical and Computer Engineering Directors of Graduate Study, and pedagogical feedback and advice will be provided throughout the course development and delivery. 

Job requirements: A graduate degree in a relevant field.
                             At least 6 years of relevant experience
