The SCHOOL OF ELECTRICAL AND COMPUTER ENGINEERING at CORNELL UNIVERSITY, Ithaca, New York, invites applications is inviting applications for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer position in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses primarily in computer engineering subjects with an emphasis on instrumentation and practical projects. They would also be able to provide laboratory instruction, create project-intensive courses in digital electronics, and supervise M.Eng. student projects. The successful candidate will also be comfortable with the day-to-day operation of a prototyping facility that provides student access to advanced instrumentation and fabrication tools, such as 3-D printers, PCB mills, laser cutters, and soldering stations. Being able to identify good Masters of Engineering projects and to partner with industry or outside laboratories on potential interactive projects is desirable.
Candidates should be able to teach (instruction as well as laboratory experiences) comfortably and competently on at least the following subjects: C and Python programming; digital logic and SoC on FPGA; and microcontroller systems; operating environments including embedded LINUX and other operating systems. Teaching competency in other areas relevant to our ECE curriculum is a plus. Candidates should also hold a Ph.D. in a relevant field, or be able to demonstrate 10+ years of relevant experience.
