UMass Medical School UMass Medical
School, located in Worcester (Central Massachusetts), is a 67-acre integrated
health science facility and freestanding university-based academic health
science campus that includes the School of Medicine (SOM), Graduate School of
Biomedical Science (GSBS), and Graduate School of Nursing (GSN), as well as
UMass Memorial Health Care, the largest not-for-profit health care delivery
system in central Massachusetts. Nursing
Lab and Simulation Coordinator (Nursing Faculty) Position in the Graduate Entry
Pathway (GEP) Program: Full-Time (12 months)
The Graduate School of Nursing (GSN) invites applications from
qualified candidates to fill an immediate opening in the Graduate Entry
Pathway (GEP) program. The GEP program prepares students who have a bachelor’s
degree or higher outside the field of nursing to become licensed as professional
registered nurses (RN) before continuing to either the Doctor of Nursing
Practice (DNP) program to pursue a career as a nurse practitioner, the PhD
program to be prepared as a nurse-scientist, or the Advanced Generalist
Registered Nurse (AGRN) program to receive a master’s degree. Faculty will collaborate to design and
deliver fundamentals nursing skills sessions in the nursing lab, and simulation
and standardized patient experiences. The scope of responsibilities also includes
supervision and remediation of students in the lab setting, collaboration with
the Interprofessional Center for Experiential Learning and Simulation (iCELS)
and maintaining nursing lab supplies and equipment. The faculty member may also
take part in classroom teaching, student advising, clinical supervision and
participation in program- and school-related committees and activities. Successful
candidates will have a minimum of a masters’ degree in nursing; Certified
Healthcare Simulation Educator and/or Certified Nurse Educator certification preferred;
prior nursing simulation and teaching experiences; and eligibility for RN
and/or NP licensure in Massachusetts. Salary
