Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic there is a noticeable decline in the availability of faculty positions and this is likely to continue for several years. In response, the Simons Foundation has generously created the Simons Bridge for Postdoctoral Fellowships https://www.simonsfoundation.org/2020/08/28/mps-announces-covid-19-recovery-programs/. These fellowships are for up to two years, and are intended for senior postdocs whose normal progression to a faculty position is likely to be delayed by the pandemic.
The Hamilton Mathematics Institute TCD (HMI) at the School of Mathematics (https://www.tcd.ie/Hamilton/, https://www.maths.tcd.ie/) has been allocated two such fellowships to start on September 1, 2021. One of the two positions is planned to be filled in any area of Quantum Field Theory and the second position will be filled in Lattice Field Theory.
The Hamilton Mathematics Institute (HMI) at Trinity College Dublin was founded in 2005, marking the 200th anniversary of the birth of William Rowan Hamilton - Ireland's greatest mathematician. The HMI's mission is to position Ireland as a centre of excellence for mathematical research.
To apply for the position in any area of Quantum Field Theory (or string theory/quantum gravity) please submit a curriculum vitae, list of publications and statement of research interests electronically via the following website:
