The Department of Sociology at Boston University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor to begin July 1, 2021. We seek a colleague with research and teaching interests in the sociology of sex and gender. Subfields are open and we are especially interested in candidates who can contribute to one or more departmental strengths including culture, economic sociology, global/comparative, health, law and crime, migration, race/ethnicity, and urban sociology. The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching on the sociology of sex and gender, as well as to building bridges with other relevant units across the university including but not limited to the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality (WGS) Program; African American Studies Program; the Initiative on Cities; and others. Advanced tenure-track Assistant Professors will be considered.
