A full-time laboratory technician position is available in Dr. Gustavo Silva’s laboratory at Duke University (https://sites.duke.edu/silvalab). The prospective candidate will provide technical support to molecular biology and protein biochemistry research and manage the organization of the laboratory. The goal of our lab is to understand the role of protein ubiquitination in protein dynamics during cellular response to stress.

We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with expertise in molecular cloning and protein assays (western blot, protein expression, purification) to fulfill this position. Additional experience in yeast genetics, tissue culture, next generation sequencing or proteomics will be favored, but is not a requirement. Lab management tasks include ordering, safety, preparation of media and of general material, and maintenance of cell culture. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are valued in order to work in a young, dynamic, diverse, and collaborative environment.
