Postdoctoral Position in Condensed Matter Physics at UC Santa Barbara

The University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) is seeking postdoctoral researchers to pursue innovative research in collaboration with Prof. Sagar Vijay’s group starting September 1, 2022. Candidates in all areas of theoretical condensed matter physics or quantum information science will be considered and are encouraged to apply; active research in Prof. Vijay’s group includes the broad areas of quantum dynamics, topological phases, and quantum computation.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to interact with other members of the condensed matter theory group at UCSB (Prof. Leon Balents, Prof. Matthew Fisher, Prof. Andreas Ludwig, Prof. Chetan Nayak, Prof. Cenke Xu), with researchers at the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics (KITP) and at Microsoft’s Station Q research center.

This postdoctoral appointment is anticipated to have a three-year duration. Appointments are for an initial one-year period, with an extension to three years contingent on performance. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience in accordance with University of California policy. A PhD is required before the appointment start date.
