The Department of English at Lehigh University invites applications for a Teaching Assistant Professor to teach in our First-year Writing Program.

Qualifications: Ph.D. or other terminal degree (i.e., an MFA in writing) in English or related fields (preferably with a specialization in Composition and Rhetoric), and at least 3-5 years of experience teaching composition at the college level.

The Teaching Assistant Professorship is a full-time, non-tenure track position. The position is renewable and promotable based upon performance and continuing needs of the Department, the College, and the University. The professor will teach four courses each semester, consisting of first-year writing (English 1, 2, or 11) with the possibility of a course release for major service contributions. All first-year students at Lehigh take at least one course in composition; class size is typically 19 or below.
