Position Description: |
The Particle Physics Group at Monash University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position in theoretical particle physics. The position is supported by the Australian Research Council and its field of research is particle cosmology and particle astrophysics. The primary objective of the research is to improve the physical description of cosmological phase transitions (triggered by, for example, symmetry breaking) leading to observable gravitational waves. The successful applicant is expected to have a strong background in quantum field theory and phenomenology, and particle cosmology and a proven track record of high-quality research output. The position will be based at the Clayton Campus of Monash University in Melbourne, and will initially be for 2 years. Extension for an additional year is possible, subject to satisfactory performance. The appointment will be made at academic Level A, with current base salary AU$ 72,205 - 97,995 per year, plus 10% superannuation. The starting date is negotiable and can be September 2022 (subject to visa approval).
