AOS: History of Ancient Greek Philosophy. Rank: Full Professor (Maria Stata Professorship in Classical Studies). 

The Department of Philosophy expects to fill this position with a tenured, full professor but exceptional senior associate professors may apply. The position will begin in the Fall 2023 semester. Salary commensurate with qualifications. The successful candidate will have a record of excellence in researching and teaching ancient Greek philosophy within the broader context of Greek culture (arts, literature, politics, science, religion). The Department of Philosophy believes that the diversity of our faculty, staff, and students is vitally important to the distinction and excellence of our research and academic programs. To that end, we seek someone who is able and willing to join in dialogue with philosophical perspectives other than their own and who supports our institutional commitment to ensuring that BU is inclusive and equitable and a place where diverse constituents can thrive. Teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels; 2/2 load, semester-system. Ph.D. direction is expected. Normal committee work is required.
