Data & Analytics Services Professional

The Georgia State College of Law Library is excited to announce a new Data and Analytics Services position. The College of Law Library has recently taken over the administration of the College of Law Legal Analytics & Innovation Initiative (LAII), including the organization of the College’s legal technology curriculum and certificate program. Reporting to the Associate Director of Legal Technology and Innovation, this position would work within LAII and the library performing data analytics instruction and projects, effectively acting as the departments data expert.

The reorganization and expansion of the Legal Analytics & Innovation Initiative presents a wide variety of options for this position, including data and technology curriculum development, teaching, and the opportunity to provide a significant amount of input to a new department and initiative as well as a newly created Technology and Innovation path within the current LAII Certificate program. This person would be expected to teach or co-teach the Applied Legal Analytics Lab, as well as supervise students in other analytics and data projects. The person in this position will work as part of a new team with the goal of growing LAII’s programming, curricular offerings, and national reputation.

This position will also assist the law community with finding, evaluating, and using quantitative data involving statistical analysis software. While experience in statistics or data analytics is preferred, we will also consider a self-motivated individual ready to learn new skills and tools such as R, RStudio, SAS, SPSS, and STATA, Python, Tableau, or Power BI. Part of one of the Southeast's largest comprehensive research universities, Georgia State Law is a dynamic urban-centered law school located in the heart of Atlanta with approximately 650 full and part-time students. Applications for this position are encouraged from candidates who would diversify the College of Law faculty.

Please note that this position requires a graduate or professional degree in any focus. While we appreciate candidates with a library background, the committee is excited to look at persons with a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds.
