The Georgia State College of Law Library is excited to announce a new Legal Technologies Librarian position. The College of Law Library has recently taken over the administration of the College of Law Legal Analytics & Innovation Initiative (LAII,) including the organization of the College’s legal technology curriculum and certificate program. Reporting to the Associate Director of Legal Technology and Innovation, this position would work within LAII and in turn the library acting as the subject matter expert for emerging legal technology, law firm technology, and legal technology initiatives.

The reorganization and expansion of the Legal Analytics & Innovation Initiative presents a wide variety of options for this position, including curriculum development, teaching, and the opportunity to provide a significant amount of input to a new department and initiative as well as a newly created Technology and Innovation path within the current LAII Certificate program. This person would be expected to teach or co-teach within the LAII certificate program and/or legal research curriculum. The person in this position will work as part of a new team with the goal of growing LAII’s programming, curricular offerings, and national reputation.

Part of one of the Southeast's largest comprehensive research universities, Georgia State Law is a dynamic urban-centered law school located in the heart of Atlanta with approximately 650 full and part-time students. A successful candidate would also perform other library duties, including teaching a first-year legal research course, participate in staffing the reference desk, collection development, and other library related projects.

QUALIFICATIONS: Required: • Master’s degree in Library Science, Library Information Science, or equivalent degree from an ALA-accredited school; • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited school; • Demonstrated interest in technology, emerging legal technology, and law and technology  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and work independently with minimal supervision. • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Preferred: • Demonstrated experience in instruction and class or curricular development, particularly in legal technology or legal research • Experience in programming, instruction, curricular development, or course development • Experience teaching legal research or other law-based courses • Experience using library-relevant technology applications, including ALMA and SpringShare products. • Familiarity with WordPress, web design, and consideration of user experience (UX).
