A Postdoctoral Position Available The BNML (BioNanofluidics and Microfluidics Laboratory, https://microfluidics.mju.ac.kr) at Myongji University, South Korea is currently hiring a postdoctoral scholar. BNML's research interest includes (1) electrokinetic and ultrasonic microfluidics, (2) their applications in protein/nucleic acid analysis, and (3) novel polymer microfabrication technologies.

1. Qualification A Ph.D. degree in physics, chemistry, or mechanical/chemical/bio/electrical engineering is required. A solid research background in microfluidics, optics, optofluidics, photopolymerization, amplification-based nucleic-acid analysis (e.g., PCR, LAMP) or light-sheet fluorescence microscopy (LSFM) shall be preferred. An experience in setting up an optical bench with a laser is advantageous. Fluency in either Korean or English is required; official English test scores (TOEFL, IELTS, etc.) must be submitted if the medium of instruction in the candidate's graduate institutions is not English.

2. Responsibility The scholar will work on a novel digital PCR technology based on light-sheet optics, a project funded by Samsung Science and Technology Foundation. The scholar's primary responsibilities include writing conference papers, research articles, project reports, and advising co-working graduate students.

3. Compensation A monthly salary will be determined by experience, publications, and other research outputs. The salary may be raised based on his or her performance and progress. Insurance will also be provided including national pension, health insurance, employment insurance, and workers' compensation insurance.
