The
School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University has an immediate
opening for a Postdoctoral Associate at
the Outreach Strategic Initiatives Incubator (OSII). Our Team: The
goal of OSII is to provide support for initiatives that cut across our Outreach
units and to enhance opportunities for collaboration across our centers, institutes,
and programs. What you will do: This position
will work on various research and writing projects related to home health care
workers. Working together with a multidisciplinary team, the position will
entail, among other things, the design of research studies that examine the
role that communication technology plays in affecting home care worker
outcomes. Responsibilities include: the utilization of direct data provided by Health Care agencies, and other secondary data sources; use and analysis of quantitative data in concert with extensive in-depth literature reviews and related written summaries targeting topics trends in service delivery; completion of human subjects review requests to the Cornell IRB; design of interview and focus groups protocols; analysis of qualitative data results from interviews and focus groups; survey design, data collection, and analysis; analysis of relevant secondary data; writing of reports, scholarly articles, grant applications, as well as research-to-practice briefs, and practitioner journal articles. The incumbent will work under the supervision of Professor Ariel Avgar supporting Future of Home Health Care Work research project. The position will commence on October 1, 2022, for a 12-month appointment, with the possibility of renewal for another 12-month period based on available funding and work. Postdoctoral Associate is a full-time, academic, non-tenure track, term position with an initial one-year appointment. The position may extension for second year, depending on available funding and work. What we need: ·
Applicant must have a doctorate in labor relations, sociology, management,
economics, applied statistics or related fields. ·
Applicant must have demonstrated interest and scholarly efforts in health
care, labor relations or other related topics. ·
Applicants must have experience in the handling
and organization of large data sets. ·
Familiarity with analysis of panel or
longitudinal data and working with multilevel models is valued. ·
Additional skills with mixed methods research on related topics,
including surveys, interviews, focus groups is preferred, but not required. ·
Must have expertise in using statistical
