The Sheng Yang He Lab at Duke University, Department of Biology, has an opening for a Postdoctoral Associate. The lab utilizes contemporary methods in molecular genetics, genomics, cell biology, biochemistry, bioinformatics and microbiology to answer basic and translational questions in the study of “plant-microbe-climate” multidimensional interactions. The candidates, in consultation with Professor He, can choose projects to advance the understanding of plant microbiota behavior and functions under changing climatic conditions. This is an emerging research topic of significant practical implications for the design of climate-resilient plants of the future.

Candidates for these positions should have obtained, at the time of the position start date, a Ph.D. degree in biological, physical, chemical, computer or mathematical sciences. Candidates should have a record of first-author publications demonstrating competence in critical scientific thinking and research creativity. Experience with plants and microbes are desirable but not required. There will be significant opportunities for professional growth and career development activities.
