Position Description:    

Postdoctoral Research Fellow Duties and Responsibility A Postdoctoral Fellow position in biostatistics and bioinformatics is available at Duke University. The position involves the development of innovative statistical methods and machine learning algorithms that are motivated from massive healthcare data (e.g., electronic health record data). 

Areas of particular interest include (but not limited to): (1) privacy preserving federated learning; (2) dynamic risk prediction; (3) data harmonization across various resources; (4) EHR phenotyping with noisy data. The Postdoctoral Fellow will be supervised by Dr. Chuan Hong at Duke University. 

Position Qualifications 

• Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Statistics, Computer sciences, Data Science, Engineering or a related quantitative field 
• Strong quantitative research background, statistical and programming proficiency (R, Python, or C++) 
• Excellent communication skills, and good track record of writing scientific papers 
• Experience with EHR data, federated learning and natural language processing is preferred
