Position Description:

We are seeking candidates who are interested in Casimir force experiments. Our postdoctoral fellows are for three years, with the possibility of a 2-year renewal based upon satisfactory job performance, continuing availability of funds, and ongoing operational needs, and are provided with salaries comparable to those at other prestigious institutions. We may offer a higher position, at the rank of assistant professor, for five years with the possibility of a 2-year renewal to outstanding candidates. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Physics/Engineering or a related field by the time the appointment begins. Relevant knowledge/skills include electromagnetics, nano-fabrication, nano-mechanics, or robotics. We expect to achieve experimental demonstrations of Casimir forces and four journal publications during the initial three-year period. The position will be based at KEK with some travels to Toyota Central R&D Labs., Aichi, Japan, where fabrications and implementations with quantum sensors can be done. The incumbent will work with QUP PI Hideo Iizuka and other scientists at QUP, KEK, and Toyota Central R&D Labs.
