The Department of Neurobiology at Duke University invites applications for a faculty appointment at the level of tenure-track Assistant Professor or tenured Associate Professor. We seek an individual conducting basic research related to the operation of the brain and the relation of brain circuits to behavior. Combined experimental/computational research programs are welcomed as are applicants using any non-human model organism, including primates. Successful candidates will have track records of creativity and productivity, demonstrated potential for outstanding future achievements, and a desire to participate in an exciting, collaborative, and growing community of academic scientists studying the functioning brain and the diseases that afflict it. They will be expected to mount a productive and innovative research program, to obtain outside funding, and to participate actively in graduate education. Candidates must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree. We strongly encourage and seek out applications from individuals from historically underrepresented backgrounds in STEM.
