Job Description 
The Bao group is a subset of the high energy theory group at Northeastern, focused on the intersection between machine learning, quantum information theory, and high energy physics. The remainder of the high energy group consists of Halverson, Harrison, Nath, Nelson, Ruehle, and Taylor, and a successful candidate would be encouraged to work with any or all of these other faculty members. In addition, there will also be the opportunity to interact with members of the Mathematics Department, the CS Department, as well as the NSF AI Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Fundamental Interactions (IAIFI). Initial appointments are for two years, with the possibility to extend for another year. 

Qualifications 
Candidates should have a PhD in theoretical physics or a related subject at the start of their contract. Candidates with experience in string theory are especially encouraged to apply. A background in machine learning and / or quantum information is desirable.
