Applications are invited for a PhD position in theoretical physics at Trinity College Dublin. The PhD position is fully funded for four years and will start in Fall 2023. The selected candidate will join the group of Matthew Walters and pursue research on quantum field theory, conformal bootstrap, holography, or related topics (see past work here). The Theoretical Physics group at Trinity College covers many research areas, including field theory, string theory, integrability, and lattice Monte Carlo methods (for more information, see https://www.maths.tcd.ie/research/fields/applied-tpmp/).

Applicants should have (or be close to the completion of) a Master's degree or equivalent in any aspect of Theoretical Physics (high energy, condensed matter, mathematical physics, etc). We strongly encourage applicants from underrepresented groups or from institutions with limited resources.

Applicants should submit the following documents on this site:
- CV (1-2 pages)
- Personal statement of research interests (1-2 pages)
- Copy of unofficial transcripts from higher education academic institutions (not including high school)
- Academic references from 1-3 lecturers or researchers familiar with the applicant (submitted by the reference writers on this site)

Applications will be considered until the position is filled, but for full consideration apply by March 24, 2023.
