The Department of Physics of McGill University invites applications for a postdoctoral position to start in Summer/Fall 2023.

The successful applicant will join the research group led by Dr. Kai Wang, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics. Research in Dr. Kai Wang’s group covers various topics, including but not limited to metasurfaces/metamaterials for quantum science and technology, time-/frequency-encoded photonic quantum simulation, topological photonics, quantum imaging and sensing, and nonlinear integrated quantum photonics. More information about Dr. Kai Wang’s research can be found at www.wkai.org.

Applicants are required to have solid experimental expertise in at least one of the following aspects supported by strong publication records:

•Experimental aspects of nonlinear integrated photonics;

•Micro- and nano-fabrication of photonic structures such as photonic circuits, photonic crystals, micro-cavities, and metasurfaces;

•Continuous-variable quantum optics experiments, such as the generation and measurement of squeezed light;

•Experimental aspects of systems mediating the interaction of photons with atoms/artificial atoms.
