Description: Associate in Research (Part-time) Organization: Duke University Position: Associate in Research Location: Department of Economics at Duke University in Durham, NC, USA Reports to: Professor James Roberts, Duke University Start Date: July 1, 2023 Length of Commitment: 1 year Desired Qualifications and Experience: Qualifying candidates will be graduates of well-regarded PhD programs in economics. Prior research experience is required. Strong candidates will also possess: • Proficiency in programming with STATA, R, Python or Matlab; • Strong quantitative and statistical skills; • Significant coursework and experience in economics or public policy and statistics; • Excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills; • Genuine interest in economics, policy, and research; • A positive attitude and be flexible, self-motivating, able to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and a team player; • The ability to handle several different projects/tasks at one time, successfully complete tasks assigned, and meet deadlines; • A willingness and desire to work hard and learn. Language Requirement: English (fluent) Responsibilities: The Associate in Research will be based at Duke University in Durham, NC, and work in close collaboration with Professor James Roberts and his coauthors on a number of projects related to market structure, competition, and health care.
