The research group of Prof. Grigory Rogachev invites applications for a postdoctoral research associate position in the Cyclotron Institute at Texas A&M University. The successful candidate will conduct research in experimental nuclear physics, utilizing the experimental facilities available at the Cyclotron Institute (https://cyclotron.tamu.edu) and other facilities, such as FRIB, TRIUMF, and RIKEN. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, 1) nuclear astrophysics, 2) structure of exotic nuclei, 3) clustering phenomena in nuclei.
A PhD in physics or a closely related field is required. Candidates with a strong background in Time Projection Chambers (TPCs) and analysis of the TPC data sets are strongly encouraged to apply. The initial appointment will be for two years, with the possibility of a third year, depending on the availability of funding. The start date of the appointment is flexible.
