| Notice: Thank you very much for your interest in our faculty position at Georgia State University's College of Law. We are suspending our recruitment process for this academic year. We will reconvene and begin review of applications in the next academic year. Thank you. HEALTH REGULATION The College of Law (COL) at Georgia State University (GSU) invites applications for a tenure-track position in the COL at the rank of assistant or associate professor commensurate with experience. For this position, we seek candidates who specialize in health law with a research focus on health law regulation, corporate law and compliance, and ethics of health care businesses and organizations. This position supports a new interdisciplinary research initiative under the University's Second Century Initiative (2CI) (http://www.gsu.edu/secondcentury/). Candidates for this position should have strong interdisciplinary research interests that will enable their engagement with the COL's Center for Law, Health & Society (http://law.gsu.edu/clhs/) and the Institute of Health Administration in GSU's Robinson College of Business (RCB) (http://robinson.gsu.edu/healthadmin/index.html). BACKGROUND: The COL and RCB at GSU were awarded an interdisciplinary cluster hire of three new faculty positions (2 appointed in COL, 1 appointed in RCB) around the research theme of the legal and ethical governance of businesses in health care, life sciences, and biotechnology markets. For more information about the proposal which was the basis of this award, entitled "The Business of Science: Law, Policy and Ethics in the Regulation and Governance of Health and Scientific Businesses," see http://law.gsu.edu/agora/index/recruitment/health_regulation_law/proposal/. HIGHLIGHTS: The 2CI cluster hiring builds on the existing strengths and collaborations between the COL and RCB, including joint degree programs in law and health administration. The law school hosts a nationally ranked health law program, and the business school hosts a nationally ranked master's program in health administration. The cluster hiring also builds on the COL's strong program and scholarly track record in intellectual property law. The COL's Center for Law, Health & Society (http://law.gsu.edu/clhs/) is a research catalyst for analyzing and developing laws and policies that impact the health and well being of individuals, families, and communities. The Center offers a broad educational curriculum in health law, as well as sponsors a wide variety of public programs and events. The HeLP Legal Services Clinic is a live-client clinic at the law school which is part of an innovative medical-legal community collaboration providing free legal services to low-income children and their families (http://law.gsu.edu/clhs/index/education/HeLP_legal_services_clinic). Applicants should have a Juris Doctor degree, excellent academic background, and a proven record of (or demonstrated potential for) outstanding scholarship, teaching, and professional engagement. Applications (cover letter and resume) are accepted electronically through www.academicjobsonline.org. Georgia State University, a unit of the University System of Georgia, is an Equal Opportunity Educational Institution and an EEO/AA employer.
