Job Description:    

The Physics Department of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology invites applications for junior faculty positions in the field of Condensed Matter Physics, covering broad areas such as strong correlations, nanoscience, quantum information, etc... Applications in both experimental and theoretical condensed matter physics will be considered.

Faculty members at MIT conduct research, teach undergraduate and graduate physics courses, and supervise graduate and undergraduate participation in research. Candidates must show promise in teaching as well as in research. Preference will be given to applicants at the assistant professor level. More senior appointments will be considered only in exceptional cases.

The application deadline is November 19, 2010. Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, a brief description of research interests and goals (the latter not to exceed 3 pages), and arrange for three letters of reference to be uploaded.
