| The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry seeks applications for a tenure-track position. We are seeking a creative and visionary scientist who employs computational or theoretical methods—either exclusively or in combination with other experimental methods—to study macromolecules, systems of interacting macromolecules, or cellular processes. We are particularly interested in scientists who draw on approaches from disciplines such as physics, engineering, or chemistry. Areas of specific interest include, but are by no means limited to: multi-scale modeling, computational systems biology, dynamical systems theory, mechanics and fluid dynamics in the cellular environment, membrane dynamics, or simulations of large macromolecular complexes.
Applicants should have a PhD or MD degree. The successful candidate will be expected to establish a dynamic and interactive research program and will actively participate in graduate training in the Graduate Group in Biophysics and other programs. Laboratory space will be in UCSF’s vibrant Mission Bay campus.
Application will be considered starting January 1, 2012 and continue until the position is filled.
UCSF seeks candidates whose experience, teaching, research, or community service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and excellence.
