| The Institute of Health Administration at Georgia State University invites applications and nominations for an anticipated tenure track faculty position with open rank. This position will focus on health information management and technology throughout the healthcare sector, and successful candidates will have an earned doctorate and research agenda appropriate for this research area. This position should have strong research promise for appointment at new assistant professor level and a strong publication record in top scholarly healthcare and business journals for appointment at more senior levels.
ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT
Georgia State University (GSU) is a leading urban research University located in the heart of Atlanta, the cultural center of the South and a hub for health care organizations with national and international reach. This faculty position is funded under GSU 2nd Century Research Clusters which foster cross disciplinary research among colleges and this cluster is focused on health information management and technology throughout the healthcare sector. This research initiative builds on existing strengths and collaborations among GSU’s Robinson College of Business (Health Administration and Computer Information Systems) and The Andrew Young School of Policy Studies (Georgia Health Policy Center), and three faculty positions were awarded the HIT cluster, as well as three doctoral scholars. This research initative is expected to increase the HIT focus in Atlanta, which has recently been recognized as the HIT capital of the world by the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce. The Institute of Health Administration is located in one of the nation’s largest business schools and is nationally ranked. These research positions will complement our already strong research environment, and will teach mostly at the graduate level. Salary level, course load and additional research support are competitive.
