VIIBRE is a transinstitutional initiative created in 2001 to foster and enhance interdisciplinary research in the biophysical sciences,bioengineering and medicine at Vanderbilt, integrated with a strong focus on undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral education. Founded in 1873, Vanderbilt is a private, coeducational university with approximately 6,000 undergraduates and 5,000 graduate and professional students.
